Favorite composers?

How could I have possibly forgot to mention Strauss in a classicial
music thread? How many times have I waltzed with my wife?

See how easy it is to forget one...Edvard Grieg composed Morning Mood.
Could that be the one Duramaxgirl was asking about?

Don't let it out, but I'm also guilty of listening to Big Band music. Glenn Miller,
Tommy Dorsey.

John Coltrane...

Awesome sounds...

I've even told people to put be back on hold (telephone) when it's some really cool piece
playing.

Seriously?! I thought I was the only one that's ever done something like that! I've even told them to take their time because I was enjoying the classical music.

Could be, all I know is my brother and I love classical and he used to record stuff for me on cassett tapes (remember those) and id listen to it all the time while doing school or what not. I have a classical piano CD the kids and I listen to in the car. I love classical piano... oh and classical guitar! Who here likes Rodriguez? I think that's his name anyhow.

I have a mass of classical music, if anyone wants a CD. It's all that's on my iPod!

I also like the blue Danube... who wrote that? And when I was a teen, many moons ago, my brother had a song that I loved called The Morning... anybody remember who wrote that one? It was also classical.

We have been playing Strauss, Shostakovitch, and the Nielson Flute Concertos in our local symphony... they are very enjoyable to listen to, and to play they are even better!

Classical guitar, I've enjoyed Christopher Parkening, particuarly with Kathleen Battle in Ave Maria
and don't forget Andres Segovia!

Mozart I love! Hayden is another good one. I love most operas.

Bach...well, my ears are not used to hearing contratenors singing those Bach's operas........sounds so wrong but so heavenly to hear from a guy or guys with sopranitic sounds.

Never could appreciate German music, too dark and too heavy for my taste but with those certain German operas, sure!
