Anyone heard Beethoven's Wellington's Victory? Generally considered one of his worst pieces, and it's pretty good! Fun fact - the percussion section included CANNONS AND MUSKETS. I sure wouldn't mind playing a musket in an orchestra.

If there's one composer I REALLY don't like, it has to be Stravinsky. I now totally understand why the crowd rioted at the first performance of The Rite of Spring.

I can't even pretend to enjoy that one.

I like a lot of the baroque composers like Bach and Handel. Also some of the stuff by Grieg, Beethoven, Mussorgsky (Night on Bald Mountain) and Tchaikovsky.

I like Beethoven the best overall....I also like "Bolero" by Ravel, Vivaldi baroque choral pieces I've sung, some Mozart, and I dunno. I just know I can't stand popular music!!!!

I LOVE to play the Largo from Symphony No. 9 by Beethoven on the flute...soooooo pretty. Might need to break it out tomorrow. Haven't played that in a long time.
My mom had all the biographies of the composers on tape. We would listen to them for music "class" when I was homeschooled. It was great! They played the composer's music in the background with their biography narrated. Very cool.
