Feather Fixer ~ Good for molting hen(s)?

Nope, I’m not one of those peeps either... wild birds come and go as they please.

Chicken feed of any sort attracts the wild birds, and they bring in mites, several times in the last year. I care! Mites and lice are a pain, and take time and effort to eliminate.
I'll be devastated if any wild bird brings MG to my flock, which fortunately hasn't ever happened.

Feather Fixer is just a poultry feed with a couple % protein and some vitamins that aid in new feather growth. Really, its just a sales thing. Its definitely a useful product to aid chickens in feather growth. You can also give her some higher protein treats as well. Just like egg laying takes an absorbent amount of calcium from the ladies, new feather growth does the same thing. Won't speed it up, but its nice to have that back-fill of resources to draw from. Given a healthy chicken as she seems to be, be a few weeks to get back into fluffy butt shape. And yes, just practice good house keeping with the scratch and feed. Health check is always great, but probably just a hard molt which isn't that uncommon. Keep seeing the pre panic button being hit in these post. lol

Me too! She is NUTS for the starter feed, btw
She was just bare skinned, with a few feathers, now, she has lots of pin feathers coming in. I can’t wait until all her normal plumage and feathers come in!
