Hi all. I noticed a couple of the chooks had dirty bums and a bad case of mites. After several goes with mite powder I dosed them with ivermectin, which incidentally dealt to the mites and improved the bums.
However, one of the chooks had these odd growths around the feather stems in the bum area. Incidentally also one of the poo-ier ones. Still there ten days after the ivermectin but mites gone. Chook otherwise looks and behaves ok, which is an improvement prior to ivermectin when she was quite lethargic. None of the other 5 birds have the same growths but had mites and lesser poo-ier bums. The affected one is quite old for a brown shaver/ high-line at about 5 years.
