Going into lockdown today and have 5 Serama eggs under a broody also due starting this weekend..........
In my intitial post I described the condition of the box when I recieved my eggs.
Soaking wet and smashed but not one broken egg.
Most eggs have chicks and look good with the exception displaced air cells...........
Making me a little nervous.....................

Congradulations on hatches.sharing the thread makes it so much fun..............

Congrats on the babies jp and gape! Now, how do you post those videos. I have tried going to youtube to do this, I'm doing something wrong. Old grandma learning new tricks with technology.

OH! Forgot to mention how much you all have helped with my feelings of going insane...!

Up until I got to reading about everybody's hatches on here, I thought I was likely one of few that sat at the bator watching eggs! It's exciting and addictive and I love it!

My first hatch, I did everything wrong. ALWAYS research before starting up the bator! I didn't and only got three of 21 eggs to hatch. Four others made it to pip and then died. My bator temps were all over the map though and I think I was lucky to get the three I did (I had to help all three and wish I'd helped the others, but I'd been doing more reading and it basically said don't bother, leave them to hatch. Sigh.)

I'll be following upcoming hatches and will post updates as my duck eggs near their Mar 17 due date. I'm excited because this time, I have 21 of the 24 put in that are fertile. Much, much better than my first hatch batch! :)

Here are two of my first three at Day One:

Super new at this. Just my second broody hatch and I hatched these two babies under my splash BLRW Buttercup. It was her first time being broody and at the time, was the only option for the 7 eggs (only got 2 chicks) I had to hatch as my other broody girl already had some fosters under her.

Buttercup did okay. She hatched two out. Would show them where the food was. But Lord help them if they got cold - she just kept walking the yard like nobody's business. Took one chick out when it was shivering, then the other two days later. They are now in the house with my three ducklings.

Buttercup didn't miss them at all ~ left the 'nursery yard' and went right over to the big coop and joined the others. Short memory.

Time to put them in their own box though. I do wet/dry bins for the ducks to help with taming and the chickies don't mind the dry box to sleep in but they HATE going in the wet box as the bottom gets wet and chilly. Might as well have left them with their foster mom...HA!

I think the one on the right in the first pick might be a roo. Lookit them fat little legs! Both hatched March 11th.

Also, I'm not sure if they are EE or Ameracauna as I had two roos in the coop. Hoping for EEs though to add some colour to my basket of eggs (dad either wh Ameracauna with blue gene or a brown Danish Leghorn).

I checked their feet for clues and keep thinking I see green, but not sure. I'll include a couple of close ups so you can throw in some opinions!

I now have 21 duck eggs in the bator to join my first three ducklings hatched Mar 16th! Cayuga, Black Swede and Pekin mixes:

They are all so adorable!!!!! <3

got another Australorp chick out and chirping loudly this morning. It's dy enough fo the brooder now so I snapped it'smugshot and it's happy with the others now

Looking great there FrankiesMom

I have 3 muscovey hens sitting on nests, and I'm hoping for a great hatch out. I also snuck 3 goose eggs under one of the hens, so hoping they hatch too. I have chicks all over the house now in various set ups to brood them until they can go outside. Wife order 50 meaties who are doing well, the rest are what I have been hatching out.

Thanks! Can't say I've enjoyed myself more - addictive! I have Saxony, Cayuga, Black Swede, and of course Pekin ducks, so my hatches will all be surprises.

I'm recently on permanent disability and I think hubby is letting me set up the incubator and brooders all over the house cuz he feels bad about my 'gilded cage' situation, so I could probably outdo MMM by the end of the year if I'm not careful! HA!

I'm jealous about your goose egg! I have a gander in love with a duck (my avatar pic) so will see what happens there, though I've never seen her lay an egg and she's just over a year now.
