FEB HATCH-ALONG THREAD ...COME JOIN US.... EVERYONE!

Tonight while I was putting everything into lockdown, I realized my incubator's water supply ran totally, completely empty. I've been checking it from the outside and it looked full, but when I opened it today to do the final candle I realized that it was just a shadow making it look like there was water. I don't know how long it's been this empty. I candled last Wednesday and I *think* there was water then but I can't be sure. Did I ruin my hatch? I candled after I realized this and couldn't really see anything but I did see movement so I have hope. I added a lot of water for lockdown.
What was the humidity reading inside? they may still be fine. can you candle an egg?see how big the air cell is?or are they too dark.? Put um in and keep the humidity about 65 see what happens. GOOD LUCK!

I am locking down 35 BR, BLRW, OE, EE and a few Ameraucana. on Saturday.

I had some eggs hatch 2 days ago and was cleaning out the hatcher yesterday and found an egg that still had the yolk in it. None of the chicks died or seem stunted. I haven't seen this before. Did the chick not suck up the yolk or was it a double yolk?

If it is an intact yolk( I can't see it clearly because of the shadow) then I would say yes you had a double yolker. Amazing it hatched all by itself. Most of them die because there is no room in there for 2.

Yes it was intact. The EE hen that laid it has laid one other double yolk in the past. Thanks!
