February 2022 Hatch-A-Long

Just waiting on one more shipment of eggs!

View attachment 2959025

So far I have 4 55 Flowery, 3 Isbar, 3 Hedemora, 2 Swedish Black (Svarthona) from Greenfire. Waiting on 6 Ayam Cemani x Easter Egger. AND gonna fill empty space/replace non developers day 1-3 with my own Egyptian Fayoumi x Green Queen Bantam.

First time with new nurture right incubator (was a Xmas present from hubby but I don’t really think he realized what would happen. I wasted no time trying to fill it up!)
Boy he's gonna be sorry he bought you that. 🐥 times 100+ 😆

That's a good mix! I don't even know if we can get most of those here. Looking forward to seeing chicks. I wish my partner would be me an incubator. I'm fairly new to the incubator world but am eyeing up a Brinsea cabinet bator for "one day!"
Just googled these guys..... never knew they existed

:wee:wee
I was looking for mille fleur Pekin eggs and stumbled upon them. Apparently they're hard to find breeders who will ship fertile eggs this time of year (or at all, not sure which). I'm glad I found them!
I piled eggs into my incubator last night

I didn't even count how many

I just put every egg I could find that was marked "blue" which comes from my blue pekin/cochin group.
That is living the dream, not even counting how many you put in :D

What a cool mix of eggs!😍
I’m really intrigued by the Hedemora, especially the silkied ones! I love all the Swedish breeds. Martin Silverudd was a genius.😊
The NR 360 is such a great incubator. I am so happy with mine.
Can’t wait to see the chicks you hatch!
I’m working on a breed project and, by coincidence, a lot of the Swedish breed’s characteristics are what I’m looking for. Trying to do landrace breeds like the hedemora, Swedish black and fayoumi. They tend to have a higher disease resistance but the fayoumis are difficult to handle so I want to mix them with friendlier dinosaurs. Lol they’re actually so difficult that the only reason I’m putting fayoumi eggs in the incubator (not an ideal roo) is so I’ll still have fayoumi blood if my hens decide to go feral 🤣 it’s a big (ish) risk because they only started laying a couple weeks ago. I’ve been checking though and they are fertile.
