Yes she's an Ameraucana! She came from a show bloodline but the gray blue on her tail is a big ol' flaw, lol. I love her though and it helps me to tell her apart from her sister.

The white eggs are actually a mystery from my friend, lol. I didn't want to buy hatching eggs in case this winter broody experiment doesn't work out. The mother is a white Leghorn and the father is a mystery at the moment but she has 2 Polish roosters and a Japanese bantam in with that flock.

Just candled my 16 February eggs, all looking good here DAYS 14, 10, 7 and 6. The two that were plucked from the kitchen eggs are also developing here on DAY 7. One has a mal positioned air cell, likely from not being turned for the 2 weeks it was in the fridge, have to see how it manages.

I'll be joining in for February 22nd. I'll be setting on January 31st in the evening.
I'm sure it has happened to lot of you here... you accidentally collected eggs that just need to be hatched now. I wasn't going to hatch them yet. Just saved them in case someone wanted hatching eggs. And now I was thinking I needed to check fertility. I have 4 breeding groups but not all hens are laying yet.
I'll start my small incubator and I am setting somewhere around 40 or 50 eggs. Not sure how many will actually make it into the incubator. It has been cold here. So I am not expecting a great hatch rate. Oh, almost forgot... I am setting Sulmtaler eggs.

I set some chicken eggs to hatch on Feb 14th. I will be candling them next weekend. I will have other eggs to set this weekend and next week as well.

It was a complete accident. I set them and then realized the hatch date. If I had set them a few days sooner I would have them hatching n my wedding anniversary

I have 8 olive egger eggs from a lone laying 5 year old hen. The roosters had to go, but I really wanted a few pullets to add into the flock. for a good ratio this time around. They are set to hatch on the 12. Today it looks like I have atleast 4 visible embryos. Not bad considering they were in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. This is definitely early for us to get chicks and I would have preferred to wait, but atleast now I won't have any issues integrating them in with the flock before summer vacation.
