Me either! I get so giddy n anxious when I come to this thread! I can't wait til mine r popping out!

The three “partridge” Silkies. Ones really interesting and showing a picture of its back, like lighter strands mingled amongst black. One of the blue Silkies, the same one who followed Solo around everywhere, keeps coming out from under the brooder for attention whenever I take the lid off and is quite happy being picked up lol

Upgraded our incubator last night & added 1 more egg for a total of 15

Has anyone here used a Little Giant? Any advice? Eventually I want to get the NR360 but this will most likely be my last hatch for a while so the Little Giant it is. On the upside I’ll have multiple incubators later on

Today is day 15 of incubation over here. One of my broody hens stopped sitting, she had already been broody for about a month once I finally gave in and gave eggs to them because a second hen went broody with her. So now I have one hen sitting on all 5 eggs. I have a little kennel that I'm going to put in the exact spot where she's sitting in a day or two. Most of my broody hens freak out if I try to move them before the chicks hatch so I'm taking a different approach and I'm going to try to keep her comfortable in a kennel while her chicks hatch and then move her to my actual broody pen once they're hatched. The kennel is way smaller than I would like which is why I'm trying to wait a bit before putting her in there. Fingers crossed this works! lol

Good luck! I moved my broody from the favorite nest box to a plastic tub turned nest box at night. It took her a day or 2 to remember her new place when she got up for her daily break but she adjusted pretty easily. I hope yours will as well

I have an article on how to make little giants incubators work the best. I was going to throw them out until i did my updates, now I'm really happy with them.

Thank you! I’m going to read it now. We’ve ordered the fan conversion kit but it won’t be here until Monday. I wish I could have found one locally

The fans that are designed for them are not good.

Awesome article. Thank you! I was thinking my thermometer was off & going to recalibrate today now I’m worried my eggs got too cool last night. The bator thermometer was reading 99.5-100 but my meter was reading 97-98. I’m gonna go calibrate my other one now & put a towel under it
