I just watched my first ever to hatch in the incubator!!

One day early, still have 9 more to go.

I am on day 10 and just did our first candling. We started with 5 BLRW, 3 Barnvelder and 5 Welsummer from JamesA and then through in 4 of our own mystery bantam eggs (hoping for pure cochins!). Out of those we have 4 questionable, 3 of the Welsummers and 1 of the BLRW. We for sure had 13 live little ones in there!!! We'll try again in 3 days or so on the questionable ones, but I'm pretty sure they are all duds. Day 21 will be on the 27th!!!

Well it's day 10, just checked my egg I had the ? mark on its showing development so far and one egg developed a hole in the side of it so I put a piece of eggshell over it with a piece of tape and it is showing good to go, so next candling day is Friday night so I'll chime back in then with the lastest progress report. catdaddyfro: Hope you save that egg! See post #77, there's a site for "emergency egg repair with wax" that will seal in moisture & allow the chick to pip thru also. Page 8 I believe.
