Yah I was gonna say because I don't have a Brinsea, either, and didkn't know this was a Brinsea hatch-along! Glad you got that cleared up, though.

So us non-Brinsea folk are still participating and it's not a contest, right ?? Just a hatch-along, correct?

Either way, I'm gonna be setting eggs probably Monday. I found a lady who breeds show silkies & she's gonna sell me some eggs from her show-winning stock.

This is my 1st hatch and I set them at 7pm last night-- I cannot stop checking on everything.. it seems I am going in there every 10-15 minutes checking the temps/humidity (I have 3 therm. in there)... its been less than 24 hours and Im exhausted LOL

UGGGGG, why did I look at this thread. I'VE BEEN BIT:drool

But it's 2 degrees here today, with a wind chill of 15 below.

I've got fertile RIR eggs, but I'm afraid it'd be too cold, 3wks to hatch then what 6-7wks in the brooder.?. that gets me to mid April. I might be able to do this:woot Now all I have to do is convise the DW to let me do this in the basement, oh and make room to do this in the basement:eek: This might work!!

I set 17 OE, 2 EE, and 2 Ancona on the 16th, so lockdown on the 2nd, and hatching on the 5th. I also have a couple batches of shipped eggs coming next month, so if all goes well, I should have more chicks!
I opened up my new Genesis last night, and am looking forward to filling it!
