No, at least at a day old, the Shamos really aren't all that different looking. I'm sure in 3 days they'll start to grow out their own separate ways from the Marans crosses though.
And by the way, I don't have ANY Marans x Shamos, far as I can tell. . . Maybe ONE, and that is all. The rest have beards, muffs, and a little crest. There's just one so far that doesn't seem to though. Really, really hope it doesn't.
Oh well. Either way, I'll be hatching some more, this time with a 100% guarantee they'll be Marans X Shamo, and with the Marans hen being the fastest growing and biggest of all my girls. So excited. . . She started laying today after a long molt.
Good luck to everyone else!! I still have several eggs left to hatch though. Have a Shamo just barely coming out and another that's sitting in the egg for a hour or so now. Poor thing had a hard time zipping due to the fact that another chick was sleeping ontop of it during the process!
