FEBRUARY Hatch-A-Long, come join in!!

Lost a second one before it could hatch... this one was the poor chick's fault. It pipped right on the vein, and it was dead before I could try to help it.

Stinks anyway, but more so because it was the only egg I was SURE was a pure bred SLRW...

(From 1970 so I guess it was time) So I moved them back into my Avey incubator. Which I should have just kept them it. Well, I moved the dial too much! I set it at 106

My siamese has taken a sudden interest in the bator since the turner stopped today. I figure he is planning to bat the top off and roll the eggs around to get them rockin! Unfortunately he doesn't respect the "leave it" command.

Well ... half of them should be roosters ... give them a lot of 20+% feed and send them to freezer camp.

I was shopping in our local TJ's yesterday and noticed they offer two types of free range egg but none say fertile eggs. One carton did have a rooster and a hen pictured on the cover but did not mention fertile eggs.
What brand were the eggs you hatched?
BTW, one brand of free range eggs were brown eggs so they would not be typical Leghorns.

Yep, we'll eat any roos. Out of 15 eggs, 11 are hatched, 1 more is pipped and 3 TBD. 2 of the 3 were alive but smaller than the rest on day 18, so maybe they'll just need more time. The other was like the majority, so not sure what's going on inside that one yet. They are all still in the incubator, drying and fluffing. This is now officially the beginning of day 3 for us here, the first one hatched 30 hours ago.

The eggs are 'Trader Joe's Fertile Eggs' 'Cage Free'. They are not available at all stores.

All the photos are so cute! I can't wait until the 15th! I told my family we should have a hatching party haha! I have 8 eggs and I thought one had a blood ring but when I went back to inspect I couldn't really tell which one it was so I hope they're all good!

My babies are due on Valentine's Day!! I'm excited. I'm hatching out cuckoo marans/easter egger crosses. I hope to get some olive eggers. I'm also hatching out cuckoo/buff rock crosses, and blue andalusian/cuckoo crosses just for fun. I have about 24 eggs. I guess I need to count and see how many are in there.....

What breeds ( Mixes ) are they?

Okay... So far there are:
Group 1
7 EE/SLRW
2 GLW/SLRW -{dark w/ auburn markings on head, located top center of 1st pic}-
10 SLW, BA, or BG(pick one)/SLRW {hard to tell the difference due to shell coloration}
Group 2 (Sat in my basement for min. of 2 weeks prior to incubation)
4 EE/BG or SLRW
Edited to add: Make that 5 EE/BG or SLRW .. Egg designated 2-F just hatched out.
