I just chucked 3 more eggs.

I knew they weren't good, but there is that piece of you that wants to believe they will grow. LOL So far, of my orginal dozen shipped eggs, 3 were infertile (no bullseye when opened and no development), and 2 were very early quitters (something started, but not much).

I am having a ball with my silkie egg. It is so cool seeing everything through a white egg, even early on.

My incubotor dropped down to 94-95 last night. Not sure for how many hours but probable around 2-3hrs.The eggs have been in there for 3 days. Should I worry and start all over again?

.This is our first time doing this with our new bator and I seem to live in the bathroom due to the fact I have turned it into a heated incubating room and am constantly looking to make sure we have prpoper temp at all times of the day.

Jumping back into the hatch-A-long again. This time with just 12 of my own eggs. 5 blue Ameraucana/ blue cochin roo and 7 white and blue cochin hens/ blue cochin roo. Setting up bator today and setting eggs tomorrow.

Hopefully by April my silkies will be laying eggs.

Greetings! I didn't post earlier in this "Hatch-A-Long" because, well, I just didn't make it past the thinking about it stage. I now have something to show. I got some hatchery Delawares last May and they have been laying up a storm since early October, short Northern days and all (current average of about 18-19 eggs daily from 22 pullets. One of them insisted on going broody in mid-January. I stuffed a few (7) eggs under her and these were the results as of this morning. Four hatched and one (barely visible) pip.

I hope to see a few more when I get home from work. I think she is doing pretty well for such a young girl!
