UPDATE: DAY 22...22 eggs in lockdown...3 black bantam crosses hatched, 1 bantam cross zipped, 2 'OE' hatched, 1 'OE' zipped, 2 bantam cross pipped, 6 'OE's pipped and 7 eggs we need to talk out of the egg...
My next batch of 19 goes into lockdown on the 25th...I will wait until the 22 to move the hatched to the brooder...hopefully can do it before then because all have hatched...fingers crossed....

I have chickens hatching! I honestly expected none to hatch as they wern't supposed to be fertle, I wasnt paying attention to the temp and humidity, and wasnt flipping them. Now I have one hatching, and one pipping!

I do not think I ever posted pics on this thread of our chicks from the February hatch-a-long. They hatched out one week ago today. They are from a sebright mother, bantam black cochin daddy. Wing feathers are coming in, one faster than the other.... don't girls feather in faster?? I'm thinking we have one of each... hoping so!

We call them "cobrights". They are 2 days old in this picture. They're the first chicks we ever hatched, and they're healthy and doing well.

Setting the next hatch today for the March hatch-a-long. Gonna be a bigger group this time, setting 36 eggs!
 
Well I had a little naked neck come out of one of the green eggs. It was a nice surprise, as I thought it was an americauna egg. She was a bit shrinkwrapped, so i had to take her out and peel the top of the egg that was stuck to her head off.

UPDATE: DAY 22...22 eggs in lockdown....6 bantam crosses hatched, 9 'OE's hatched, 2 'OE' pipped, 1 bantam crosses pipped, 1 bantam egg taking sweet time and 3 'OE's taking their sweet time.....
Total so far 15 out of 22...more to come...

I was really happy when I saw it, because I didnt think any were going to hatch and I thought it was an americauna egg. Now Im hoping for baby bunnies tomorrow.

UPDATE: DAY 22...22 eggs in lockdown....7 bantam crosses hatched, 11 'OE's hatched, 1 'OE' pipped, 1 bantam crosses pipped, and 2 'OE's taking their sweet time.....
Total so far 18 out of 22...that is 82% and more to come...
