There here! Well I went and picked them up. Saw my post lady and she said they were there at the office but they weren't going to deliver post to my street cause of the ice and all...blah blah...long story..went down there straight away and they were there. They are now safe and resting before I turn on my bator... Yay! So now I will start to cook them tomorrow morning... I'm in!

Hi i will be joining you all for a Feb 4 hatch....fired up the brand new sportsman and with its white exterior and digital read out how could I not hatch eggs...right...please somebody explain it to my DH....so i bought some silkie eggs from Catdance and French Toast and some Ameraucanas from Rockin Paints and then have collected for the week assorted silkie eggs from our young flock to see if the boys have figured out their purpose yet and oh yes put 4 test nankin eggs from our new trio ....so hopefully will be hatching out some fluffies along with you all and I am hatching because my son needs a number of birds to choose his 4H project from...thats my story and i am sticking to it if asked why am i hatching in winter....love 4H..good luck to all my fellow hatchers

Can my girl, Popcorn , join you for a Feb. 3rd hatching??
The only broody hen out of 12! She is an EE and has been growling, hissing, and biting at any of the other hens if they come within 1 ft. of her nest box! She has 12 eggs of mixed breeding under her. I marked them with the brooding start date and am only going to allow her to set on 12 at a time. Any extras will be culled from the nest and set aside for putting into the incubator once the current incy clutch is done hatching

I'm with ya on that one!!! I had never heard of a broody white leghorn either, but I have ONE that sets for 2 weeks and quits. She is now fired when she starts sitting.
