I set 7 eggs in my Brinsea Mini Advance on Jan 23rd. Candling showed life in all 7 last night. Temps have been steady, but my humidity was running high. So I'm running it with no water currently and humidity is way better. I'm documenting on my BYC page.
My Roo is a barred rock and I set 3 eggs from Columbian, 1 from Barred Rock, 2 from Red Sex Link and 1 from Black Sex Link.

Happy Hatching everyone!

I'm now in lockdown!!!

So, #10 and #4 broke due to a nesting brawl (why do they ALL need to be in the apple crate??), but have the rest happily sitting under Broody Cochin (or vice-versa: Cochin is happily sitting on the remaining eight eggs!), and ready for hatching to begin next Friday! (She is currently in seclusion in the broody pen.) I think Friday the 4th. That is, is the day you set them (in my case place them under the hen) Day #0 or Day#1?

I just got a bator and I'm doing a test batch of 6 eggs from my mutts set to hatch around Valentines Day. Then i'm going to get 2 dozen assorted (purebreed) eggs!

I am ABSOLUTELY shocked that every egg in this group is developing properly, given how long the eggs were just setting in my basement!

Today is day 14. I candled all 30 eggs and 28 show normal development, good air-space - everything looks right on target. One was clear, broke it open and it just had a bit of a blood smear in it, the other that wasn't right I broke open and it had a little tiny embryo that looked like it died at about day 6. So, as long as everything goes ok, the rest will go into lockdown on Wednesday......I am so nervous, what if something goes wrong between now and then? I keep running over to the bator and checking temp, humidity, making sure the fan and turner are all just right............arghhh this is worse than when I was pregnant for my daughters!!!!!!

Sending good hatching thoughts everyone's way. Anyone else hatching eggs that are due in February?
