My barred rock x ISA brown eggs due to hatch today...I’m so exited! Wonder what they look like:celebrate last time I checked they have internally pipped the last of the eggs I put in the incubator at separate days! All managed to hatch! And are all healthy!:love

At least one of my quails is hatching! I walked in an hour ago and saw shells on the ground but the pip is out of view. I didn't hear anything and was nervous, but now I'm hearing lots of peeping and the egg is even wiggling!
wow Just saw this so happy for you! I’m guessing little late bloomers? Very cute babies!:love

my incubator is way too humid. 70%-- but the water wells are dry?? i'm thinking it is coming from the space inbetween the plastic outer shell and the styrofoam liners from when I washed it? I don't think the guage is wrong, b/c there has been condensation on lid. I don't have a back up yet, but did order one on amazon, coming monday. can i leave them this humid until then? It's a farm innovators automatic.

And the 8 eggs I've got in there all looked pretty porous to me? at least Compared with the new ones i have resting and with my own chickens' infertile eggs. Are they just leaking moisture???

I think your first guess is correct. Water trapped between the sytrofoam and plastic shell. I drain mine at an angle after washing. I'd open the incubator lid a few times a day to release the extra humidity. Make sure you have the red plugs pulled .

I'm on day 24 today, but I still hear cheeps so I will give them another day.

I bought shipped eggs that were sent all the way to Alabama for some reason only the postal gods can answer, so they went from Northern California to Alabama and back to SW Washington. I have them resting right now, but tomorrow I want to put them in the incubator, but I also want to let the other eggs hatch. I'm not really hopeful for the shipped eggs, as one was broken, and one was unwrapped. This seller wraps her eggs like Fort Knox, so they must have been opened at some point. UPS is supposed to be better, but more expensive.

What is in that sock?! LOL
(Heated rice?)

Congrats!
Yes! I made it a from a smaller sock because she likes to crawl under it and I worried a lager and fuller sock would crush her! I have a heat lamp and a heating pad as well but she seems to prefer this. Probably feels more natural.
