I love the lemon colors! Need to find some to hatch. Before I slow down. :p Ooo, sorry about the racoon part. We have ferril, or neighborhood cats to worry about.

She's a gold sexlink :) I have 4 and they're wonderful layers! But big heavy birds with quirky personalities.
I always have a Sexlink out there. That's my next pullet to start laying. The guy that I bought her from calls them Cinnamon Queens. Some sexlinks are mixed with New Hampshire's, and some with Rir's. Of course the black sexlink is different, usually has barred rock in tnem. Anyway, mine were mixed with the RIR. I'll miss the white star in the neck with this one. When Cal Ranch gets their chicks in, I plan on getting a red sex link and my leghorn. Here is a photo of the sexlinks I'm talking about. I just sold one girl. Keeping the rooster for a while, hoping he won't crow much while he gets busy. Would get some good layers, and possibly some NN babies. I have a pretty girl out there, has a nice bow tie. These sexlink eggs came from Georgia.

So cute... I put some of the smaller one week old chicks in with the new hatched chick, and the one week old little bantam blue cochin/LO chick was picking up grains for the new hatched chick and dropping it , just like a mother hen would do.

I don't put in all the chicks at once, just getting the chick some one on one time.

This new chick is not that much smaller, so that is nice.

I have 8 eggs going into lockdown tomorrow, and I wanted to make sure the air sacs were looking on track, I've been doing dry incubation method. They all look like they are the correct size, but some don't slant down on one side. Will this cause a problem for hatching?

I did some coop cleaning today, opened some windows to air out, the temp here is about 45. I found a couple of hidden hen nests. When I candled the eggs were not old.
