Marthab...I think I may have miss trained my 16 week old Roos and pullets...they aren't roosting on their stick they lay under the lamp in the straw ... they are suppose to roost aren't they?

it has been in the single digits bouncing down in the negatives..I was worried they might get frost bite...but we are starting to warm up..I will raise the lamp first then take it away in a week...I thought it was weird its my fault I babied them to much..I'll chalk it up to first time chick mama having chicks in the middle of winter just in time for a polar vortex...lolThey should at that age! How cold is it where you live as at 16 weeks they should be roosting ok without heat, unless you have very cold weather. and if it is real cold then I would raise the lamp high enough so they will roost.
