Federal law no more Medicated starter

So since I'm new I will apologise in advance if this was already discussed to death...

How do y'all feel about medicated vs organic starter? And please mention why as I'd like to learn about that.

Welcome to BYC. Medicated contains only a thiamine blocker to starve the oocysts that cause cocci. I don't use it because it has almost no benefit and why mess with their B vitamins when you can just give 5 days of Corid if they show the signs of it?

I don't use organic starter because I do not feel it it worth the $$. I am just not one to jump on the organic bandwagon. And it is usually vegetarian, isn't it? I want animal protein in my feeds. The starter I use has porcine protein and I've used it for many years with good results. It is non-organic, good quality feed from Tucker Milling
