FEED COST PER STATE

Im doing an experiment to figure out the best states to start an egg producing farm in.

If you want to help with experiment just list the ammount you sell your eggs for, the cost of a 50 lb feed bag where you live, and the state you live in.

State: California
Egg price : 3.5$ no specialties
Feed price : 15$

Egg Price: 3$

I don't sell eggs but in mid/southern Missouri laying pellets avg around $8.50-9.00 for 50lbs. Where I am too many people sell eggs for me to bother trying; my extras go to my dogs. I see others selling eggs for 1.50-2.00 a dozen though.

Egg price $0 (I don't get surplus to sell)
Feed price $27 for a 15lb bag of organic Layer pellet, an $25 for 15lb scratch.
Not great profit here

Feed Price: varies depending on type but ranges from $9-15 on an average

Egg price: $3-5 (I don't get enough to sell but once I did pay $10 for two dozen eggs, felt $$$$)
Feed price: $14-18 for non-organic layer ($30 for organic)

What I charge per dozen: $2 (many get $3-$4)
Feed price: $13.99 for Meatbird crumble, $9.99 for Layer

Per dozen (this is what I pay when I have to buy eggs): $8, certified organic
Feed: $30-33 for 40-50 lbs, I buy organic pellets and mash

Honestly the same feed shouldn't cost more from state to state. It's the cost of living overall (land value, cost of services, taxes) that makes a difference.
