Feeder Build

Pro-E was the first parametric 3d.....and got stuck in some really old interfaces.
SW and Inv are much easier to use, and almost identical in function.

That is a near carbon copy to my feeder that I employ in my chicken coop.

Smart idea extending the feeder cover to defer chicken poop from the feed.

I rectified that problem by adding a visor over the trough. One great advantage to the feeder that I like is it can hold a full bag of feed in a minimum amount of space which cuts down on the need to refill substantially. One disadvantage is they seem to scatter feed around the area more than my pigeon feeder which is of this design.

My feeder doesn't look anything like your feeder and holds a whole bag plus and only takes up 6" of floor space. Not one drop of feed hits the floor with my feeder. I extended the cover so any stray rain drops that might make it to the feeder cover will fall harmlessly on the ground and not in the feed tray which would be a mess.

I am not quite as fortunate with my version of your feeder.
Lower the plastic piece, the bottom of the plastic piece needs to be below the top edge of the front piece. Shown pretty clearly in JT's drawings.

I've made one improvement to the feeder after watching them eat on camera for some time. One liked to kick the feed to the side so a tiny bit would sometimes hit the ground which made them scratch the ground and eat that up. They also only liked to eat in the corner for the most part so I gave them 8 corners to pick from. Now it seems they have much less bickering finding a corner to eat out of. I would not change anything else after watching them use this feeder design.

Here is a view from my chicken run camera.
