Feeding a chick crickets or mealworm

Ive noticed on the list of "good" foods on this site it mentions crickets and mealworms. At what age can you start feeding them these?

Let's put it this way - If Mama Hen was raising the chicks she'd be taking them outside from a few days old and teaching them all about good things to eat, like yummy bugs.

I started crickets around a week old with my latest batch of chicks, since we were overrun with crickets at that time.

Just make sure they have access to grit, either by finding it themselves in the yard or provided in a dish.
