feeding chickens raw fish.

    could I feed my chicken fresh fish, and what about drying fish and make it like and a powder.

    Personally, I'd be afraid to feed them raw fish. Fish cook so very quickly and easily though, if I wanted to give them fish, I'd just put on a pot and boil it a couple minutes first. Fish start to deteriorate so quickly is the problem, unless cooked.

    All fish has worms whether that will translate to problems for chickens I do not know. Fish cooks quick so I would throw it in the oven. Would not however give them too much as you will end up with fishy tasting eggs. [​IMG]

    Raw salmon from the Pacific Northwest can kill dogs. I don't know the effect on chickens, but I wouldn't risk it.

    Salmon I would freeze for three weeks. All others I'd feel safe with if very fresh.
