Feeding Duck Scratch Grain Only During Fall/Winter

Yes....I agree it's not a balanced diet....The guy I get all my Ducks from never feeds any of his birds a balanced diet...They come here and thrive...He only feeds cheap strait grains...Although he does have 300 Birds....:th
I have raise a decent amount of ducks----but they are always on the lake/pond. They get probably everything they need from there---so I have fed grain/scratch mainly just to keep them coming to the feeding area. But if a person does not have a "working" pond, just penned up Ducks with a water pool----for sure they needs more than scratch.

Yes, I agree....Where all my Ducks come from they live on a pond all summer till freeze up...Mine free range daily for hours at a time....They still get unlimited access to balanced feed...

Would it be okay to only feed scratch grains to Muscovy ducks during the fall/winter times? Since they won't be laying eggs would it suffice? I have young juvenile Muscovy ducklings that I hatched from @Nyla 's eggs. I have a meal worm farm in my house so I'll always add meal worms to their feed. Would this help?

Also @PD-Riverman
I think your confused....I believe the OP was asking if in the Fall if he could add scratch? Not just use that as feed...Read it again...I just had too...
I think you are misreading the question

I read that---but to me scratch is not a complete feed and should not be used as the only feed whether you are feeding it in the winter or summer, the OP did not say if they were on a pond---the rest of the year. That would make a difference.

I thought he meant adding it in the Fall to regular feed....Not just the scratch.....:th.....Crap maybe I am confused and confusing you too?...........:lau.....Sorry...
