Hello every body

I have 10 baby chicks (around3-4 week old).

I am wondering is it okay now to feed them regular wheat instead of mashed wheat?

And if it is not okay...then at what age it is okay to feed them regular wheat?

Thank you

May I ask why you aren't just feeding them chick starter? I'm just curious...
Also I feed my chicks from 2 weeks on a treat of sprouted wheat every 3 or 4 days. Make sure they have chick grit before feeding them anything that's not mash.

I live in small city in Iran and all I could find was layer feed and pigeon feed.
I couldn't find any chick started on the internet too. (thanks to US, economy is ****ed up)

are you saying it is okay to feed them regular wheat(whit grit) on 3-4 weeks age?

Oh, i see...
Yes, I'm saying it's ok, but not the only source of food. Mine also werent too interested in plain dry wheat , but they really go crazy for the sprouted wheat. It supposedly has more nutrients and stuff when you sprout it too. Depending on your chicks size the wheat might be too big for them too eat so you could crack it up in the blender some.
Yeah give them some grit the day before, just to make sure they can process anything you give them.
I personally live in a desert so I just collect dirt and sand from my own yard for the grit. They will eat the amount they need, just put it in a bowl for them.

Not quite sure what u meant by US....but we try not yo get into politics on a chicken forum. :old
As for your chicks, sprouted is preferred but if that is unavsilable due to the economy:idunnothe unsprouted will do seeing as they need to eat...chick grit a must, or sand, whatever u have on hand
