Any ideas as to identity?

The Pheobes at the beagle club are about to fledge. There's a nuthatch that has been fluttering against the windows at home. At first thought he was fighting his reflection. I have since decided that he is a narcissist in love with himself. Yesterday he was trying to feed his reflection an inch worm. Love unrequited.

We had them in the past my father's farm was in a long-gone breeding site. We haven't had them here in years.
At the club we will get several flights throughout the autumn, but I haven't seen/heard a breeding pair in years.
