Feeding Wild Birds

Our daffodils are up, but not blooming yet. The birds emptied out the sunflower seed in one day.

Back during the last cold spell, the birds (and squirrels) doubled their feed intake.

It's pretty warm here lately during the day. Went down to 32° last night.

Today I saw the first red winged blackbird of the season at the club feeder.

One male redwing at the home feeder this morning. The same early bird?

This winter I have noticed reduced numbers of winter birds at my place. Usually I have several towhees and Oregon juncos haunting the chicken compound. Several times a week one would get stuck in the coop. That has happened only once so far this winter.
I’ve been happy to not have so many wild birds pooping where my chickens scratch and peck but sort of worried about them all the same.
