Feline Urinary Tract Infection ****PICTURE OF SMOKEY ADDED ****

My cat had that, being fixed apparently screws them up, and the later they are fixed the worse it is, is what I was told. Anyway it cost like 200.00 between the vet visit, meds, and follow up visit. They also wanted to put him on prescription food, but I switched to Purina Urinary Tract Health and he hasn't had a problem since. Good luck!

Wow,I'm sorry your poor cat doesn't feel well. How old is smokey?Did they x-ray for stones. They are very common in male cats and very series.Straining and peeing in places other then litter is a sign of a problem.Small animal vets are very expensive.Ash can cause urine problems in male cat.
Some people were making commits alot why we vaccinate are cats if they are inside.Alot of what they can catch we can bring in on are clothes from outide. It takes once for your cat to run outside get into a fight with a fiv pos. and your cat has it.Rabies is a shot that has to be given and is not for sell any other way unlee the black market?Just becareful when giving any shot at home.If they are surposed to be kept cold and you take it home from the coop in the car and it gets warm it my not work. There are not many human or dog things you can use on a cat of a cat safely they are to sensitive and die easy.I just had a client tell me her son put hartz on his two cats and 1200.00 later they are barly making.
When picking out a vet call for prices ask a lot of question and you really need to feel comfortable living your pet there.

You can buy bovine rabies vaccine at any feed store.
This is what is reffered to in earlier posts.

However it is not a legal rabies shot and if the animal bites a human it will still have to undergo quarentine just like it would if no shot were given.

In some places it is illegal to own a cat or dog without current rabies vaccination. It's that way where I live.

Chances of your fulltime inside pet coming into contact with a rabid animal are probably a million to one, but its a question of legality.

When a vet tells you they want to do all these unrelated tests to "be on the safe side" they are reffering to the safe that they will put your hard earned money in after you leave.

I have never heard of give your cat or dog Bovine rabies shot and I work in two different vets office in tn.We have to have a rabies once a year but we have had rabies in tn.
Apound were I live if your dog bites someone it does have to be quarentined and if it is a problem might even be put to sleep. But you could be sued.I have two cats that were both tested for fip and were outside inside cats had all their shots and both had to be put to sleep after getting fip.The last one I put to sleep I had over 600.00 in vet bill while I worked there. He had gotten a cut on his leg which the docter stitched up about 7 days later it opened up a different vet at the hospital tried to fix it itm opened in a couple days a fill in doctor told me to flush it every day and mix up a solution to put in it.Did not work a year later it was not healed and a new vet took one look at and tested for fip and it was pos.Which is why did would not heal. So,sometimes they really need to run out things. But take it from me I think some vets do not know were to start so they go back to college check list and work their way around. We had a new vet that a dog would come in with a ear infection and he would express the picky glands and charge them.Sometimes it just hard to figure out what is wrong since animals cann't tell us what is wrong.
