When do Pekins start laying their first eggs?
I have a 4 month old female pekin..will she lay before next spring?

We have 2 female Pekins and they started laying between 5 and 6 months. So she should start in a month or so.

Usually once egg laying begins and breeding begins about a week after you should be getting fertile eggs. I hope your drake hasn't been mating her when she is very young.

They sure are pretty. How many females do you have now?

You should not have have to wait to long. You can start, once she lays, start cracking them open and seeing a "bulls eye dot" in the egg. If one is there that means the egg was fertile if not then you will have to keep waiting.
