Female pigeon attacking male after egg hatches

I had heard that if a babu's cloaca was "frowning" or "smiling" that can tell the gender, I was checking the baby out and it looks like it goes upward.
Have heard that and seen example photos but can't remember which is which! Make a note that it's a smile, I'm sure we can find that info again.

Update! The baby who I have named Theo, has gotten huge and looks like he is going to be white on his back and wings, those are the only feathers that are starting to come out, he is very active and noisy and I have kept him separated from his dad Hershey, Hershey still can see and interact with Taffy but he cant go near little Theo.

No dad didnt feed him, mom was too protective to let him come around but then at around 3 weeks mom got sick and had to be taken to the vet, the vet said that raising him on her own was very stressful on her body, which makes sense, so I had to take over for the next few weeks while she was taking medicine. And that made him bond to me more.

You did good! I had a hen raising one byherself and she just stopped at about 2 weeks so I had to step in as well. I just posted a pic of him(Doo) on the pigeon talk thread, with his new girlfriend. lol
