I’ve just noticed my female Indian runner duck has a vent prolapse, it’s not all hanging out there’s just a small amount of pink flesh poking out. What should I do for her? I’ve heard so many horror stories about this I just want her to be ok!

Have you done anything so far? you'll need to let her soak in some nice cool water that can help it shrink then use some K y jelly or Vaseline or coconut oil and spread it over it you don't want it to dry out then you very gently push it back inside. It may not stay so your going to have to keep trying and put her in a darkened room so she doesn't lay an egg again soon. If you can get a pic that would help a lot. Is a vet an option they can get it in and put a stitch in to hold it in.

She’s been swimming on the outdoor pond which is clean and filtered, we haven’t done anything yet but will now try to push it back in with coconut oil and then put her in a dark box. Should I also use sugar? Thank you for your help!
