FERMENTED FEEDS...anyone using them?

Tiny feed trough....if you have any scrap lumber you can make one of these in about five minutes or less.

That thing would seriously take me at least a half hour

What do you all use to feed baby chicks fermented feed? I mean day 1 chicks. Do you just use a small bowl/tray? Or can you use a standard feeder?
I use a small plate or condiment type bowl (like at Chinese restaurants) for they very early days, partly because they don't go through it fast enough to not dry out if I go bigger. But before long, I switch to the standard chick feeders, both the trough style or the little round one depending on the size of the brood. And I don't fill the auto feed jar, because that just doesn't work for FF.

11 chicks hatched yesterday for me!

I start them out with a plop of it on a piece of cardboard or a paper plate. Then, I move on to put it in one of the round chick feeders that are designed to have a mason jar screw into the big hole in the middle. I just fill the feeder, and leave the jar off. From there, they move up to various sized containers till they are eating out of a dog bowl. Eventually, I'll make a trough, but... even with 16 or more birds in my flock, I find it simple to just plop it into cheap dog bowls.

Has anyone seen that picture of the eggs going around Facebook talking about feeding expired yogurt, and doubling your flocks egg production? I am just wondering how much truth there is to that.

Someone tagged me on that......
...and while I'm sure expired yogurt could provide some good (and maybe much needed by that particular flock) nutrients,
I'm betting there are other factors attributing to the apparent tripling of egg production coincident to the feeding of the yogurt.
Just like all the other feeding 'tricks' that instantly boost egg production.
Was a nice palette of eggs tho, eh?
