Fermenting Feed for Meat Birds

My mutts were all black at hatch.....but had the cuckoo barring show up in a few of the boys. Human sperm is viable for only a few hours unless it makes it through the cervix(pH issues and all that). Then generally 48-72 hours, but a few "marathon swimmers" make it longer......I know, I know.....too much information.....and this is a chicken forum!!!!

My ex had the nerve to suggest that I might not be pregnant by him because he was over seas when calculations showed when I should have gotten impregnated. His had lasted at least 10 days! The boy is his spitting image so I had the last laugh!

Our place doesn't have a street and the tree cover pretty much prevents the GE feature from pinpointing much about the house, but I've no doubts they have their ways to spy upon us all the same....but...they get what they richly deserve at that point. 

Somewhere, in some spy station, a group of people are using their films of me in shorts as motivation for their company fitness program.  I feel like I'm doing something~in some small way~ to better humanity by this exposure and so will bravely continue on in my efforts. 

I would join you but we don't want to scar those poor folks to the point of needing counseling. LOL

I read in here somewhere about a breed of bird that had black skin, but it wasn't an Australorp. Is this foto for real?

Fm gene (~~Fibromelanosis) hyperpigmentation or dark skin/bones/flesh is in several pure breeds of chickens and can be "put" in any cross you like through crossing w/ a Fm bird. This gene shows in many versions ranging from black almost to the point of blue skin to very slight off grey or even splotched depending on how it is inherited. I have several crosses (well had now)

Sure could...if I wanted to drink water from the chemical laced skies we currently have above us.  No boiling will remove heavy metals, so we would need one heck of a filtration system for that.  Can't afford it....but in a pinch and for survival, we could utilize it for drinking. 

When the power is down we do catch rain water for watering livestock, bathing and flushing of commodes if we so wish...I've even showered under the eave spout before, so that's a given and we've always utilized rain catchment for that here in the sticks.  When we were homesteading, we had huge whiskey barrels to catch rainwater for bathing and washing of clothes.  That was back when beer shampoo was all the rage and we had our own secret of whiskey hair washing...   Back then, rainwater left one's hair silky soft. 

Y'all talking about rainwater reminds me of when I was a kid. We collected our household water in a cistern. Sometimes the water was hauled from town and some of it came from the roof. One time we had been gone a few days and when we got back there were a bunch of mosquito larvae floating around in a big jug of drinking water in the fridge. LOL Finally they ran water lines out here and a few years later mom got us hooked up to it. I was probably about 10 years old. Those "skeeter larvee" were not half as dangerous as what all is in "clean" water now days!

She has basic medicare but not sure if this Advantage part...is that something new?

It is a type of Medicare that is through AARP. I think there are some income requirements to get it. The only reason I mentioned it was because they have cut participating doctors from their network as well as some hospital due to reduced medicare funding as a result of the ACA. I just wanted to let you know if she did to check on the hospitals/doctors she has to make sure they were still taking her insurance. So it's a non issue with her, but a sad thing for others.
