Fermenting Feed for Meat Birds

Oh, yeah!  I know exactly what you mean and I agree.  I have sisters just like that..unable to control their dogs but doesn't like it when someone shows them how easy it is to do.  I think they like the drama of having a bratty dog more than they care about how unbalanced their dog is and how bad it is for their lives.

Yep, thought you were talking about kids there for a minute. lol

Oh yeah. As I recall that was the only times that dog would get of line. It was strange and not easy to correct. He was so jealous but I couldn't have him jumping on my other dog

I've been watching Ceasar Milan videos. That dude is a genius when it comes to dogs. His work with some of those dogs is almost like voodoo. lol

He just spent his life observing and acting on those observations and he seems to have been born with some steel in his spine, which I like, though he's a little muzzy headed about other things in life. Did you watch the vid of the dog and chickens? Those people!!!!

No wonder they can't make a dog mind!

I had to look it up on youtube to watch it. Was it the same one that the hen layed the egg in the garage in the middle of the training?

BTW...was singing to Mr. Silkie Pants tonight and found out that he and one of the other roosters in the pen really like Motown classics. SP actually walked the entire length of the pen and braved his arch nemesis~the other roo that appreciates good music~and they stood side by side listening to Hurts So Good..the Millie Jackson song. Maybe he's got a little soul in those silkie pants....

I'm gonna like him, alright...like him in a pot of soup or even in some stir fry. YUM. Those hairy little feet of his kinda freak me out...tempted to pull out all the feathers so the poor thing can walk properly.

LOL I'm with ya on those feathers on the legs!

Don't think chickens should have feathers on their legs at all. You can't see them so how'd you know they got critters on em?

I want a pic if you do that and he just might thank you. Sing it hurts so good while you're doing it to as to comfort him.

Beautiful..simply stunning, isn't he? That's the thing with hair sheep rams..they actually look a lot different than the ewes, unlike woolly breeds. Here's a pic of a painted desert ram...

Katahdin Ram...

Love em.... Though I prefer polled just from a "danger" point of view if you have a ram. And If I had sheep I would have a ram just because I am so isolated. I think I could sell Hair sheep here.
That Katahdin is a chunk. Is that how they are all built?

Pretty much, if they have the breeding and that ram has breeding and then some! They have more meat on them and their wool sheds off in sheets, which I like better than the usual rag tags I had on my St. Croix/Kat mix sheep. Here's mother and son of mine... they both had the typical Kat markings of cinnamon speckles on their fur, markings on the back legs and on either side of the tail. Another reason I love, love, love hair sheep is the parasite resistance...I never had to use chemical dewormers on mine, just used the occasional bolus of raw garlic/raw honey/UP/ACV. Fermented pumpkins was another thing I used and kelp meal/salt for their minerals. They just stay naturally healthy if on clean soils and grass diet.

Here she is from behind...quite the chunk and only grass and hay to get her that way, which I love. Feeding cheap is my thing.
