Ferrets Anyone?

Now I'm starting to wonder why people keep them at all. Are they fun in any way?

They make terrible pets but alright companions. They love to get into trouble and will squeeze into the tiniest cracks imaginable. They love to take my stuff and and hide it in random places. They climb all over furniture. Mine were very nippy when I first got them. Even with all the cons that come along with them I wouldn't trade them for the world.

I do not know your local laws about ferrets but some cities and states have laws concerning ferret ownership. Be sure it is even legal to own one where you live.

That being said a picture of ferrets should be featured in the dictionary next to the word "chaos". Even descented they have a natural odor. You also have to be very careful with your home and letting a ferret run around. They can squeeze through small spaces easily and escape. If rats and mice can fit in somewheres then it may serve the other way around. They also may hide shiny things like your car keys.

Yeah I thought about using them to actually hunt and kill free range chickens but decided not to because I didn't know what kind of ferret diseases could be transferred to the meat.

They are not wild but we are just about to convert our operation to free range.
