Hi Guys,

I've got some shipped eggs (Cream Legbars and BC Marans) in the incubator and candled tonight at Day 5 to check and see how everyone was coming along.

4/8 of the Black/Blue Copper Marans are definitely growing!
8/15 of the Cream Legbars are looking good!

That's only about a 50% fertility rate, but I feel like that's a pretty good turnout for eggs that were shipped across country in the dead of winter. Or, should I be fussing at the Post Office?

Just remember just because a egg doesn't develope does not mean that it's not fertile. Damage during shipping or, to cold or hot will keep it from developing. But sounds pretty good if 50% of your eggs are growing with your shipped eggs.
Hopefully you will have all 50% Hatch.

You're right! Definitely can't count my chickens until they hatch!

I've been very happy with the quality of eggs I received. Now if I like the chicks once they're here, and there are any pullets in the group we have yet to see.
