Fifteen weeks old and waiting for eggs. Who is with me?

I'm with you also.
20 Black Australorps and a few Black Copper Marans all about 16 weeks.

I think I found one egg from one of the BA a few days ago, but I'm denying it until I find another. I had just moved everyone around and figured I must have missed an egg from the last group in that aviary.

Our Golden Comets are laying finally, our 6 EE's aren't though

I want colored eggs darnit!

My older batch are over 19 weeks and still no eggs... and the younger ones are only two weeks behind them. Hopefully soon we'll see something. I'm too the point where every time I hear a cackle from the coop I run out and check. Of course, I can't complain about them being late because I still don't have any bedding in their nest boxes... perhaps they're holding out for that???

I have 2 Golden Comets, 1 Black Copper Marans, 1 SLW, 1 BLW and 2 silkies all 17 weeks old. I think the GC's should start laying any day now.
I can't wait!

I'm pretty sure I just heard the egg song, but of course my mind might be playing tricks on me and they could just be singing something they heard on the radio...
The chickens are now 16 weeks old!
Is there *always* random squatting behavior before the first egg comes???

I posted twice in this thread talking about my 17 week leghorn who had not laid yet. The only one of my pullets who looked very ready. Finally this morning she was quietly laying in the egg nest and this is what she produced.

She never did any of the squatting talked about here, lots of nervous balking and pacing in the morning for 3 to 4 days before laying.

Sorry posted wrong photo first time.

I got my first egg today. It's super small but it's here. I have Gold Comets that will be 16 weeks tomorrow. Now I just need the other 11 to start laying.
