Will toms fight to death? My 2 toms saw one another today for the first time and started fighting. I broke them up but took a good beating from thier wings.

mine occasionally fight hard, but usually not very long.

They can kill one another, but rarely do. They'll normally spar until the pecking order is worked out. Sparring can result in swollen closed eyes, torn snoods, bruised/abraded caruncles. We just make sure they are in the clear (not in garden or near sharp/heavy implements on which they might be impaled or squashed by if knocked over. We apply a mix of pine tar/plain neosporin to moderate the `snood pulling' and prevent potential infections.

Ours have been getting it on before breeding season for the past 5 years and are none the worse for wear (loser will mope around for a couple of days afterwards looking/acting like he wants to die).
