I have enough kids and only have interest in one partner. Thank you all for the advice. he has survived the day free ranging with the ladies. took a couple beatings but hes alive.crossing my fingers for a smooth night.

Regarding night, if he is in the house with you.... sneak him out on to the roost an hour after sunset. Might be worth a try.

Thank you everyone for your advice! Hedwig has adjusted nicely since making the changes. I do still need to sneak him in at night but he snuggles in and nobody seems to mind.
