Filing a crooked beak chicken?

I have a chicken which has a crooked beak and the crooked part is hanging down to the bottom lip/beak. I asked the vet and they said to file it when it ge too long. Do you think I should start filing it now? She can eat and open her mouth but I just don’t want it to get too long.

If she were mine, I would either file it or clip with dog nail clippers.
