I hope Obama doesn't get elected. Then we will be scre**d. Besides, why would anyone would want a racist in the white house is beyond me.

We need a president who will send a nuke over to Iraq, and Afghanistan. Just nuke them, and problem solved. Give them 48 hours to get out all the women and children out, nuke them, take over Iraq and Afghanistan, and then take their oil. Simple as that!

what would chuck norris do?

He'd roundhouse kick the oil companies so hard they'd PAY US to use gas....

shall i call him now?

I agree w/ several posts here. Suppose we go with the drill ANWR/other possible resources idea.
Who do you think this oil will be sold to, when it comes online in 5-7 years after they've done all the infrastructure needed? Pure and simple - it will go to the highest bidders.

Personally, I do not think this means it will stay at home/North America and help us with any domestic challenge or crises we may be having. I think it will get sold to, or at the very least bid up by, developing countries like India and China which are growth markets both in demand for oil/gas and resources (money) to pay for it. Those are rapidly technologically advancing countries.

Now, one can argue it's not all bad to export this oil and make some money, but those who make the money will be few and far between. It will do diddly squat for helping the typical American who is thinking gas costs will stay the same (and even at $4/gallon, that is pretty low on the world scheme of things), and will not solve in any meaningful way the dependence the world has on oil.

We've built the modern society pretty much around availability of a single, finite resource (or at least a small few). Yeah, great plan!

Anyway, this means what has sprung up as we know it will have to change as we near the end game of this/these resources. It's not going to be an easy transition because we like the way we live, and think change to diversify and change to living a life where we are more in concert with a sound environment will be a worse outcome. And because it will cost us money, time, or likely some combination of both.

I acknowledge there is a cost borne in dollars and emotions that we will go through over the next half century or less.

But I think staying the course of consumption results in something much worse than changing our habits today.

Bush isnt a bad president. How is he a racist?

I'm assuming you must be one of the 12 people who still support him?

I'm sorry but you need to remove the Rose colored glasses...
