It took a while but we finally got the run up. In the photos you may notice the chicken wire - I had not finished the hardware cloth yet. It is up now.
My husband cut the door to the run, lay the board up against the wall of the coop and the more daring came right out.
He kept having to move them as he worked on the door. A few never dared to go out the first day except to stick a head out.
The outside group kept together and did a circuit of the whole run, while keeping in a tight group.

I expected that evening after all the excitement and the loud power tools that the chickens would be settling in for the night early. Instead they were all surrounding the magic door and waiting for it to open. LOL. They are so happy to get outside. The run is not predator proof yet. We have more modifications to do. So for now they are stuck with only a few hours a day when we are home. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks we can finish up and start letting them in the run all day.
