Finally some progress!

I know it’s still very early for them to start laying, but what’s the fun of chickens without being impatient with every stage??? 😂

My Wyandottes are about 19 weeks old now, probably almost 20. They’ve had teeeeeeny tinyyyyyyy no combs for ages and absolutely zero development. I’ve heard a lot of “Wyandottes are hard to sex, they redden up early!” and apparently my girls think that’s silly. But now we’re getting some comb action up in here! No squats yet, but slowly we’re getting close 🎉

My silkie hen only started squatting after her first egg. Who knows, eggs could come very soon!

Thank you! I love how they’re turning out, I know hatchery birds can be a bit hit or miss. They feel so fancy lol. That’s good to know! I love a good surprise, I figured we’d have to wait for spring since they’re all supposedly late maturing breeds (Jersey Giants here as well)
