fireworks ban

I see nothing wrong banning fireworks. It is not a God given right to scare the crap out of your neighbors, scare their animals and start a major brush fire. In MA they are banned, doesn't mean people don't go to CT and buy them like crazy. All I hear for the whole summer is fireworks around here. I really believe that fireworks should be left to the professionals.

So where does it stop? Does your neighbor have the right to have chickens banned across the state because of noise, bird flu, smell, what have you?

What about banning cars? Driving is not a god given right. Those dang cars scare people an animals all the time. They also cause lots of fires.

Nothing should be banned unless they have the numbers to prove its much more of a danger to people than other normal actions. The "I dont like it so it should be banned" people need to think about all the things they do that someone somewhere might not like...

If you think that is just crazy think about this little fact. Pinball was banned for almost 30 years in the USA because someone somewhere did not like it......

Are you saying the forest fires were caused by fire works? Or are you just insisting that they will cause forest fires although it is kind of hard to find a wild fire that was caused by fireworks when so many are caused by lightning or moronic backpackers and hikers? Personally, I have no problem with safe and sane fireworks.

No, I am saying that the least little thing can cause a forest fire. These two huge ones this year were caused by campfires that had been "put out." Only they were NOT out. Campfires are typically not even ALLOWED in the forests for much of the year due to dry, windy conditions that make it very, very easy for a fire to start.

Right now virtually the entire state is a tender box ready to go up in flames at just a small provocation--oh, except for the areas where we've had huge forest fires--they are expecting torential flooding. Fireworks have been illegal in this state for as long as I have lived here (30 years) and for a good long while before that. That is up until 6 months ago; there was no big push to legalize them.

We can have them, and if DH was not out of town working we would have them for the kid's.
But we keep a very safe watch around all the feilds, because it is a huge firework display every direction you look from my property.
But we used to have a bull and they drove him crazy!!!!!

They're legal here, infact I just bought some. Stands are everywhere and I'm going to a party on the fourth where we're going to blow a whole bunch up! Unfortunately they're going to cut down the hours on when you can use them next year.

And that isn't nessicarily fair due to the fact that it's so wet here, even if trees are everywhere. Stupid laws...

Hopefully I'm not rubbing it in too much.

I just wanted to be honest.
