Just found out there aren't any vets who treat chickens anywhere near us- if you had to have emergency meds/treatments on hand (epsom salts, corid etc) what you you recommend?

Great information--thank you so much! Wow! And yes, I had a small flock in the desert 11 years ago, but now we are in the Pacific North West which feels like a whole different planet some times! Need to make sure I am prepared to care for my little (hopefully) ladies in this new environment.Welcome to BYC!
You've been a member of BYC for 11 years?
There's a LOT of threads about kits, if you do an onsite search you find many suggestions.
Some are linked below to get you started.
Basics I like to keep on hand are epsom salts, chlorhexidine, Corid, triple antibiotic ointment, vet wrap, syringes and Permethrin poultry dust and spray.
Medications like dewormers and antibiotics are purchased or ordered if necessary.
A dedicated dish pan can come in handy and a plan for what you are going to do with a sick or injured chicken is a very good idea. A kennel, large tote, spare coop/sectioned off corner of a run/coop, etc. can all be used as a place to separate a bird if needed.
Sadly, knowing how to euthanize a sick or injured bird should be part of your knowledge base as well. There are many threads about this too. Youtube videos about the subject are available as well.
Some folks keep quite a bit of supplies on hand, while others don't. Pick up a product here or there and build your kit as needed. You can't have everything on hand.
Medications can be expensive, and they do expire - so consider your budget.
I'm sure others will chime in with their lists and suggestions.
I usually keep things pretty simple.
