for more babies.

fordmommy.......holy smokes, you're certainly incubating a lot there! My eggs (right now) are scheduled to be shipped Tuesday. So I should get them and set them Friday or Saturday. So yes, I will hatch with you.

8 are hatched and fluffy. One is having trouble hatching but still alive in the shell. I left it to momma and nature. I did end up with one yellow one that's pure BO. THe rest are all a mix of white rock/BO or Dominique/BO. Not sure yet which cause I havent looked super close because it's still a little chilly here. Momma has shown them how to eat and drink and is being a good broody mom. She takes good care of them. DH even watched her help one hatch out of the shell. She gently pecked the shell and membrane off of it and it came out and did fine. Kelly this is soooo much easier than incubating yourself. Momma does such a better job than I did. 8-9 out of 10 viable eggs aint bad.

Awesome hatch! Congrats! And a pure BO, how nice! I'm glad momma is doing a great job!

I figure if I keep hatching, sooner or later I'll get a broody. (I lost my BO in December and she was my best shot at a broody) So I have 4 ameraucana's, 2 welsummers, and soon I'll be hatching BBS Orps among other babies. So hopefully, I'll get a broody at some point.
