Hey, you might be able to get into the guinness book of world records! What's the earliest anyone's heard of a hen laying? I got this from a pullet who is only 5-6 WEEKS OLD and isn't even fully feathered:
She's a Production Red from Tractor Supply, bought April 4 from a batch they got in around April 2. I've named her Sweet Tater, both for her coloring and the shape of her pitiful little egg, but I'm sure she'll figure out what shape to make them eventually.
wow congrats! I can't wait to get a steady amount of eggs each day.9 eggs today!!!....now I want more. . . lol![]()
Ha Ha egg abortion!? I think the shot of 80's we had is what made my hens start to lay. All your lady's have started laying right? You should start to get more eggs more consistantly from here on out. How fun! Do you have any younger hens?your on your way ...youll be burried in eggs soon!! lol....now i just went down to throw some scratch and I witnessed one lay a soft shell...(egg abortion??) lol she seems very fine, and she laid an egg this am??? Maybe the heat? were in ct and it got up to 85 today and sunny, past week its been in the low 60s and rain??
