First Egg Countdown

But I can tell we are getting close I have a girl who keeps setting on turned over cinder blocks like she is trying to lay.

Soon. very soon.

18 weeks it must be nice! I had to wait till most of mine were almost 26 weeks!

I am getting about 6 a day from my 7 hens. The kids found one of our chicks eating the membrane of a shell less egg this morning. That means today or yesterday would have been 7 eggs.

Mine are all 21 weeks and I can't wait any longer.

Only one of them has gotten really red in the face. I bet she'll be the first!

Thats why I gave in and chose this cross breed, I thought it was rediculous waiting almost 7 months for some of the nicer looking ones lol, you end up loosing alot of color options when your impatient like me lol, but getting as many eggs a day as you have hens 98% off the time is a nice pay off!!

I have started the waiting game all over again. I ordered 15 chicks who are 8 weeks old.. 5 easter eggers, 2 gold laced wyandottes, 2 blue laced red wyandottes, 2 barred rocks, 2 light brown leghorns and 2 black copper marans. I can't wait for them to begin laying.. I know I have a while and one of the easter eggers is most definately is a rooster. But they are moving into the coop this weekend with my 4 hens.

lol, I used to be sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Impatient with baby chicks lol, this time I bought all started POL pullets, lol and I still almost exploded having to wait 3-5 weeks for em to start, lol when I was younger

, I used to have so much patience, but like my g/f says Im an impatient nut lol!!! Im only 29 but as soon as I got the means, I built a coop (fort Knoxs) and a run and bought 12 Pol pullets all In a week, at least I "geter done" lol

So I talked to the home some of my chicks had gone to and they have been laying for more than a week!

Me I have nothing!

If I wasn't already impatient this has made me more so.
